Shortcuts#

CoolDock provides global shortcuts for visibility and profile switching. They work even when another app is focused, and both are enabled by default.

Hide and Show Dock#

The default shortcut is ⌃⌥⌘D. Use it to hide or show CoolDock without moving the pointer to its screen edge.

Open Settings → Shortcuts → Dock to record a different shortcut, choose Reset to restore the default, or disable it with the switch.

Switch Profile#

The profile shortcut under Settings → Shortcuts → Profiles uses a modifier prefix plus one number key:

  • 0 selects the first profile
  • 1 selects the second profile
  • the remaining number keys continue in profile order

The default prefix is ⌃⌥⌘. Record a different modifier combination, Reset it, or disable the shortcut with the switch. The pane lists the resulting shortcut for every profile and marks the active one. Reordering profiles in Settings → Profiles also changes which number opens each one.

Useful macOS controls#

  • ⌘, opens Settings while CoolDock is focused. It is reserved and cannot be recorded as a global shortcut.
  • ⌘F focuses the search field while the widget browser is open.
  • Hold ⌘ while dragging a widget to reorder it directly. With Drag apps to rearrange on, apps and folders move with a plain drag.
  • Right-click the Dock, a widget, or an app to open its contextual actions.

If a global shortcut does not work, record a different combination that is not already reserved by macOS or another app.
