Connected Widgets#
Connected widgets bring selected account or service data into the Dock. Each widget has its own setup panel and uses only the connection method required by that provider.
Available connection groups#
CoolDock's current widget library includes connections for:
- Mail and productivity — Gmail, Mail, Linear, Calendar, Reminders, and Notes
- Developer and AI — GitHub, Supabase, Resend, Claude, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity, Grok, GLM, OpenCode, and Antigravity
- Analytics and links — DataFast, Simple Analytics, Plausible, and Dub
- Revenue and commerce — Polar, Stripe, Dodo Payments, and Shopify
- Social publishing — YouTube, YouTube Studio, X, X Studio, and TikTok
- Cloud — Dropbox
The widget browser is the source of truth for integrations available in your installed CoolDock version.
AI assistants such as Codex, Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, and VS Code can also connect to CoolDock itself through Settings → AI Assistant. See AI Assistant.
Connect a widget#
- Open Widgets and choose the provider's widget.
- Enter the requested account, token, site, organization, or workspace details.
- Complete any browser or macOS authorization prompt.
- Choose Add Widget.
Right-click the added widget to open its connection details, refresh its data, change the selected account or metric, or open the provider.
Credential storage#
CoolDock stores widget credentials only on this Mac in the storage location selected under Settings → Privacy → Credential Storage:
- macOS Keychain is recommended and protects credentials with your login keychain.
- Encrypted file on this Mac is a fallback for a login keychain that cannot be unlocked.
CoolDock does not provide a cloud account or sync widget credentials between Macs. Removing a widget from a profile does not necessarily delete its saved connection; use its setup panel or Credential Storage controls when you want to change or remove credentials.
Connection troubleshooting#
- Confirm the token or account has the permission requested by the setup panel.
- Open the provider's app when the widget reads local app data.
- Right-click the widget and choose Refresh after changing credentials.
- Review Settings → Privacy for a denied macOS permission.
- Export diagnostics if a connection continues to fail; secrets are excluded.
