Screens#

Open Settings → Screens to choose which displays host CoolDock. CoolDock remembers displays it has seen, including disconnected displays, and connected displays are listed first.

One Display#

Choose one preferred display. If it is disconnected, CoolDock temporarily moves to the built-in display and returns when the preferred display comes back. If two identical displays are connected and CoolDock cannot tell them apart yet, pick the one you want so it remembers which is which.

Attached Displays#

Attach every display on which CoolDock is allowed to live using each row's Attached checkbox. When several are connected, the highest attached display in the list wins. Use Move Up and Move Down in a display's menu to set priority.

If none of the attached displays is connected, CoolDock stays hidden until one returns.

All Displays#

A copy of CoolDock appears on every connected display. Every copy shows the same active profile and widgets. Each copy responds to hover, scrolling, and text entry on its own, has its own profile switcher and floating drag handle, and reserves its own Dock space when Reserve Dock Space is on.

Docks return on their own after the screensaver, screen lock, or display sleep.

Identify and name displays#

Choose Identify Displays to flash each connected display's name on that screen, or Identify in one display's menu. Choose Rename to tell identical monitors apart; the names are used everywhere in CoolDock. Each row also shows whether the display is built-in or external, carries the menu bar, or has an identical model connected.

Disconnected displays remain available for naming and attachment and show when they were last seen. Use Forget only when you no longer want CoolDock to remember a display. If it returns later, CoolDock will treat it as newly seen.

Reset Layout in the menu bar Layout menu switches back to One Display on the display under the pointer. See Layout.
