License#

Open Settings → License to activate, check, or deactivate the CoolDock license on this Mac.

Activate#

1. Choose a credential storage location when prompted. CoolDock does not touch the Keychain until you pick one.
2. Under License from, choose Keyper or Polar to match your purchase email.
3. Paste the key from that email and choose Activate License.

An internet connection is required to validate activation. The License Status group then shows the status, the provider, the masked key, this Mac's name, and any expiry date, and License Details lists the access, updates, and device allowance associated with a Keyper key. Buy CoolDock opens the store if you do not have a key yet.

Device counting#

A Keyper key can be active on as many Macs as your purchase includes; each Mac uses one seat. A Polar key is active on one Mac at a time.

If you are moving to another Mac, choose Deactivate on This Mac under Manage before activating the new one. Deactivating frees the seat and keeps your CoolDock settings on this computer; you can activate again later with the same key. Check License Status re-validates the key with the provider.

License key storage#

The license key uses the same local credential storage selected for connected widgets. The recommended location is macOS Keychain. CoolDock does not sync the key through its own cloud account.

Activation problems#

• Check that the full key was copied without an extra space or missing character, and that the selected provider matches the purchase.
• Confirm the Mac is online during activation.
• Open Settings → Privacy → Credential Storage if the login keychain is locked, and choose Unlock Keychain.
• Deactivate an older installation if the key has reached its device limit.
• Email support@appitstudio.com with the purchase email and diagnostic export if the problem continues. Do not include the license key in a public message.
